Acquisition completed: ARANIA continues its growth journey through the acquisition of thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Lamincer S.A.U.
ARANIA S.A.U, part of the GRUPO ARANIA, has announced today the acquisition of thyssenkrupp Materials Services’ subsidiary thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Lamincer S.A.U., located in Mungia, Spain. The signing of the purchase agreement and the closing of the transaction have taken place on 20th December in Bilbao. Both parties have decided not to disclose the financial details of the transaction.
Through this acquisition ARANIA further establishes its leadership in the south of Europe as a precision cold roller and supports its ongoing growth strategy. “This acquisition is a consistent step in our strategic plan, where we aim to continue with our sustainable growth as partner choice with excellent product quality as well as outstanding service and flexibility”, says Carmelo Bilbao, Vicepresident of GRUPO ARANIA.
The newly named LAMINCER PRECISION STEEL was founded in 1986 and, after an initial minority stake, has been part of today’s thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe, an operating unit of thyssenkrupp Materials Services, since October 2009. Today with 75 employees, the site has capacity for around 40,000 metric tons per year and specializes in carbon cold-rolled strip, structural steel and micro-alloyed materials.
Thyssenkrupp Materials Services is one of the world’s leading mill-independent materials distribution and service providers with around 380 locations – including around 270 warehouse sites – in more than 30 countries, with a sales Turnover of € 13.6 billion.
